Charleen Hope Organ, age 81, of
McKinney, Texas, passed away February 27, 2008, in McKinney. She was born
November 28, 1926, in Lubbock, Texas, to Charles Benjamin and Mollie
(Huddleston) Organ. At the age of five she came to live with her Aunt Rachel and
Uncle Reace Frisby in the Chambersville community. Hope was a graduate of Boyd
High School in 1944 and attended North Texas Agriculture College in 1946, now
the University of Texas at Arlington.
She worked for many years in the insurance business and retired from the
Southern Baptist Annuity Board.
Hope was active in many organizations
after her retirement and especially enjoyed being a trail guide for the Heard
Museum and a volunteer at the Medical Center of McKinney. She was also an active
member of the Chambersville United
Methodist Church. As a cancer survivor, she participated in the Walk for Life
Relay.
She is survived by her brother,
Charles B. Organ, Jr. and his wife, Carolyn of Friendswood, Texas; sister,
Geraldine Organ Watson and her husband, Richard of San Jose, California;
cousins, Bobbye Jack Minshew and Margaret McAdams,
both of McKinney and Terrye Hernandez of Dallas, Texas; numerous other family
and friends.
She was preceded in death by her
parents, aunt and uncle, Reace and Rachel Frisby, and cousin, Evelyn Chandler.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon, Friday, February 29, 2008, at
Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel
in Allen, Texas with Rev. Gerald Johnson officiating. Interment will
follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends during a visitation on Thursday evening
beginning at 6:00 PM.
