Louisville Courier-Journal Loretta Mae Merwitz
MERWITZ, LORETTA MAE, 87, passed away Monday, April 6, 2009 at Baptist Hospital East. Born in Napanee, IN May 12, 1921, she was a loving wife and mother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Merwitz; parents, John & Elizabeth (McCorkhill) Heid, three brothers; two sisters; son-in-law, James Graf; and one great-grandson. She is survived by her daughters, Patricia Graf-Burkhalter (Gerry) and Dawn Burns (Jeff); sister, Estelle Landes, of Lighthouse Pointe, FL; four grandchildren, Donna Kincer (Jim), Jeff Graf (Ashley), Susan Canary (David) and Andrew Burns; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral: noon Thursday in the chapel of Arch L. Heady and Son, Westport Road at Herr Lane, with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens East. Visitation: 2-8 p.m. Wednesday.
