This Indenture made the 7th day of December in the year of our Lord 1824, between Peter GILL and Celia GILL, his wife, Nancy GILL, widow of John GILL, deceased, of the one part and William GILL of the other part, each of Halifax County, 

Witnesseth that
WHEREAS the said Nancy GILL justly indebted to one third part of the land of John GILL, dec’d, and all of said land having been conveyed by the legatees of said John GILL, dec’d, unto the said Peter GILL, and now the said Nancy GILL being anxious to convey her said interest to said William GILL, we the said Nancy GILL, Peter GILL and Celia, his wife, do this day covenand and agree to convey unto the said William GILL 50 acres of said land which is layd of by consent of parties

Beginning at Crews’ Corner pine N 54 degrees W 39 poles to a new James Corner, then down past new thence his line N5 W E 144 poles to Canister River thence down the same as it meanders to Crews Corner W.O., Thence Crews Cno S 50 W 85 poles to elbow in line Thence S 54 W 60 poles to the beginning.

 

To have and to hold the above tract or parcel of land to the only ___ and benefit of him the said William GILL, his heirs forever and the said Peter GILL & Celia, his wife, Nancy GILL, widow of John GILL, dec’d, as for ourselves our heirs & forever warrant and defend clear and free from the lawful claim or claims of all and any person or persons whatsoever
