(Exerpts from the Deed)

Grantors: Mrs. M.A.FORBIS, a femme sole,  R.L.FORBIS and M.L.FORBIS, husband & wife,  T.C.FORBIS and Annie FORBIS, husband & wife,  J.A.FORBIS and C.J.FORBIS, husband & wife,   Josie MERRITT, a femme sole
(Note: Josie Forbis married 1) George W. Burke; 2) Sol Merritt; 3) Ed Brown),   U.H.ROSS and Mary A. ROSS, husband & wife,  all of Grayson County...the said Josie MERRITT, R.L. FORBIS and T.C. FORBIS being children and heirs at law of T.C.FORBIS by his surviving wife, M.A.FORBIS...said heirs together with John FORBIIS & Mrs. Zora BRYANT are all of the children & only heirs of said T.C.FORBIS by his surviving wife....(*)Donia HANNA being the only surviving heir of T.C.FORBIS by his first wife, Sarah; and J.A.FORBIS being the only surviving heir by Sarah J. (Note: Mary J. is the correct name), the 2nd wife of T.C.FORBIS.

Grantee: S.C.STEPHENS

In consideration of $1500 cash plus $3805 paid in 10 annual installments.

Property description: 120 acre tract on the waters of Honey Creek in Edwin RIGHTMAN Survey; 100 acre tract formerly sold to T.C.FORBIS by T.J. AUSTIN; 320 acre tract also on Honey Creek in a survey by A.G.STAPP and a survey by J. HEARN.

There is reserved, however, from the tract last described, about 1/4 of an acre of land for Graveyard purposes which is surrounded by metes and bounds as follows: Beginning 165 yards South of the N.W.corner of said 100 acre tract in the West line of the BUTLER survey; Thence East 17 yards; Thence South 70 yards; Thence West 17 yards; Thence North 70 yards to the beginning.....

Witness our hands this the 26th day of July A.D.1905.

        Collin County.


Thomas Calhoun FORBIS was born in1827 in Wilson Co, TN;
         he died before 1896 in
Texas; he was married four times.
