Obituary of Robert “Bob” Hamilton Douglas

From Van Alstyne "Leader" Thursday, April 27, 1939

Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Thursday at the First Christian church here for ROBERT HAMILTON (Bob) DOUGLAS, 73, who died from a heart attack at 4 p.m. Wednesday of last week here. Rev. Lloyd Mottley, pastor, and Rev. Leo Johnston, pastor of the Oak Cliff Christian church, Dallas, officiated. Burial was in the Van Alstyne cemetery with Fox-Fanning in charge.

Robert Hamilton DOUGLAS was born 12 Feb 1866 in Grayson County, Texas, a twin of William Houston DOUGLAS (born 2 days apart). He was the son of JOHN GILL DOUGLAS and ANN ELIZA HORN. He married OLA MORRIS on 11 Jan 1894. They had 3 children: BOBBIE MAUDE DOUGLAS who married Henry J. COLEMAN; RUTH DOUGLAS who married A.H.McDonough and Verna Weldon DOUGLAS who died as an infant. Robert H. DOUGLAS' date of death was 19 April 1939. His wife, Ola MORRIS was born 20 Nov 1873 and died 30 Mar 1962.
