March 27, 1913 – Page 8 Funeral of Ross Twp Resident On Friday The funeral of John Carson who died at his home
two miles northeast of Rossville yesterday, will be held from the residence Friday
morning at ten o’clock, conducted by Rev. Tedford. Burial will take place
at the Rossville cemetery. Mr. Carson was a prominent farmer, well
known throughout Ross township. He was
past 51 years old,
having been born in Ross township on July 18, 1861. He was married to Amanda C. German in
1886, who survives with two children:
Mrs. Guy Clauser of Rossville, and Harvey
Carson, residing in and Robert of Ross
township, and Edward of Oklahoma; also a sister, Mrs. Hetty E. Bartley of |

ROSSVILLE FARMER CLAIMED BY DEATH EARLY WEDNESDAY MORNING John Carson, residing two miles northeast of Rossville, died at 12:30 o’clock Wednesday morning, of a complication of diseases. He had been ill for more than a week. He was a wealthy and prominent farmer, taking great interest in Rossville’s affairs. He was 51 years of age. John Carson was
born in Ross township near where he died, July 18, 1861. He joined the Presbyterian church early in
life and was a faithful worker in that faith.
He was also known for his honesty and uprightness in his dealings with
his fellow men. He was married in 1886
to Amanda C. German. Besides his
wife, he is survived by two children, Mrs. Guy Clauser, of Rossville, and
Harvey Carson, of The funeral
services were conducted from the residence Friday morning at 10 o’clock, Rev.
Tedford officiating. Interment took
place in the Rossville cemetery. |
