| Robert Boice Carson, III.,
son of Robert B., Jr., and Mary (House) Carson, was born April 4,
1940, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He died July 24, 2008, at his
home in Appleton City, Missouri, at age 68. Bob spent his childhood in Tulsa, Wichita, KS., and Appleton City, MO. He served his country in the U. S. Navy, then lived in Tucson, AZ., and Kansas City, later retiring in Appleton City which was his mother's place of birth. He was a member of the Trinity Methodist Church in Appleton City and made his living creating magnificent artwork throughout his life. He also enjoyed boxing and history and was a very colorful character, touching many lives with his art and his own personality and sense of humor. He was also a kind-hearted animal lover and contributed to the welfare of neglected animals by taking them into his home for safe-keeping. His sense of humor never failed to brighten someone's day. He was one of a kind - unique and original. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He was preceded in death by his father, in 1951, and by his mother in 2003. Survivors include his daughters, Meredith Carson of San Diego, CA., and Leloie Carson of Tucson, AZ; his grandson, Shawn Eric Jones and granddaughter, Wendi Lee Jones, both of Nevada, MO; great-grandson Riddick Wyndell Shook of Nevada, MO and by his 13 cats and one dog of the home. Funeral services were held at 10 AM, July 26, 2008, at Hill and Son Funeral Home of Appleton City. Interment was in the Appleton City Cemetery beside the grave of his mother, Mary H. Carson. |
