This day of September 1853 James M. BURK and Sally W. BURK, his wife, of the County of Washington and State of Arkansas of the one part and Moses DUTTON, Joshua CALDWELL, James CALDWELL, Stephen B. ENYART and James MAYFIELD, trustees, in truth for the uses and purposes hereinafter mentioned, do herewith
Deed to the Methodist-Episcopal Church (south) approximately 11 acres more of less for use as a campground.
A part of the NE ¼ of the NW ¼ and a part of the SE ¼ NW ¼ of Sec 32, TWP 17 N Range 28 West
Beginning 44 rods south of the North East corner of said Sec TWP and RGE. on the East line of said SE ¼ NW ¼
Thence West 17 rods to a stake; Thence bearing a little West of North, 56 rods to a dogwood; Thence bearing a little South of East, 39 rods to Enyarat’s line where a hickory stands; Thence South with said line 52 rods to the beginning, containing by estimation 11 acres. For the sum of $50.

(Note: From Darrell Tisdale’s abstract of his property is this quote “In pouring over the ‘ancient’ terminology of the abstract, this is a picture of the transfer of these lands: Somewhere between 1851 and 1853, James A Mayfield deeded 40 acres of land to James M. Burk and wife, Sally, and they in turn apparently sold 11 acres of that portion to the Methodist-Episcopal (south) for campgrounds of which James Mayfield was a trustee”
